Our Muay Thai scholarship program currently pays for students to train in the art of Muay Thai at no cost to  their families.

This is one family’s story.

To The Muay Thai Project,

I am a single mother of three boys. My two youngest sons started Muay Thai last year. Originally I had thought that it would be a great activity for them to get some extra exercise. It turned out to be so much more. My middle son was diagnosed with O.C.D , anxiety , Adhd and depression, He also had a lot of anger inside that had been built up for the last 8 years, since the divorce. Although their father may love them he has not been there for support and guidance. I began to see a transformation in him. His self esteem and confidence grew with each week. His anxiety all but disappeared and Muay Thai has given him a safe outlet to get out all the anger that has been pent up in him for the last 8 yrs. In November I had to have reconstruction surgery. Being out of work for 3 ½ months to recover put a lot of strain on our family, not just emotionally but financially. When I had told the boys that we may have to stop going to Muay Thai I could see their hearts break. Seeing the look of disappointment in their eyes was too much to bear. Trevor has made such progress and I didn’t want to lose that. Being able to have scholarship so that they are able to continue while I get back on my feet financially has been a blessing. They boys admire and look up to Coach Brooks , he has provided them with a stable, consistent positive male role model, for which they sorely need.  Again, thank you for giving us this wonderful opportunity.

Sincerely,

Trish B.
